India is known for its festivals, and if there is a festival that stirs up vigor and energy here, then it is definitely HOLI! In 2017, Bollywood is ready to present the second movie in a series called Badri ki Dulhaniya (Badri’s Bride). Starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, this film is set in the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, where Holi is celebrated in remembrance of Krishna. Badri ki Dulhania song has the energy and the mood that is needed to set dance floors on fire, although very similar to the song ‘Radha’ from Student of the year.

Badri ki Dulhania Song Lyrics and English Translation

Khelan kyun na jaaye
Tu hori re rasiya (x2)
Puchhe hain tohe sari guiya
Kahaan hai Badri ki dulhania

Why aren’t you playing Holi, Oh Seeker of Pleasures?
Everyone is asking where is Badri’s bride?

Kurti pe teri malun gulaal
Rang bata blue ya laal
Air mein tere udte baal
Aaja rang doon dono gaal

On your shirt, shall I rub colorful powders
Of your choice, tell me, blue or red?
As your hair dances in the air,
Let me color up your pink cheeks.

Are sa ra ra ra.. (x3)
Kabira sa ra ra ra..

Baby ke dekhe jhoomke
Laga de chaar thumke
Chhichore nache jamke re

I have seen my babe’s earings
Shake that hip, so that the rogues dance to your tune

UP mein din dahade
Window aur chat pe taade
Hum dekhe aankhen faade re

In all of UP, in broad daylight,
We would stare from windows and roofs

Arre arre..
Tujhpe tiki hai meri naughty nazariya..

My naughty eyes are set on you

Tujhko bana kar ke (x3)
Le jayenge Badri ki dulhania
Tujhko bana kar ke
Le jayenge Badri ki dulhania
Rani bana kar ke
Le jayenge Badri ki dulhania

Munia re munia
Badri ki dulhania (x2)

I will take you away as my (Badri’s) bride
I will take you away like a queen, O bride of Badri!

Holi hai..

Baby badi bholi hai
Baby ki rang di choli hai
Angrezi mein khit pit madam ri
Bura na maano holi hai

My babe is very innocent,
Just ignore what she slates in English coz it’s the occasion of Holi!

Rama rama gazab ho gaya
Tere se nazariya lad gayi
Aayi jawaani julm hoyi gava
Kis aafat mein padh gayi

It’s a miracle that I have locked eyes with you
This sin has set upon my youth, what have I got myself to

Arre sa ra ra ra..
Kabira sa ra ra ra..

Ho.. rama rama gazab ho gaya
Tere se nazariya lad gayi
Aayi jawani julm hoyi gava
Kis aafat mein padh gayi

It’s a miracle that I have locked eyes with you
This sin has set upon my youth, what have I got myself to

Haaye main mar gayi
Sooli pe chadh gayi
No no no kehna tha
Lekin haan kar gayi
Dil tujhko send main toh kar gayi re
Main Badri ki dulhania

Oh God, I good as dead!
Wanted to say no,

I ended up saying yes to him…
I have sent my heart to you,
I am Badri’s bride

Tujhko bana kar ke
Le jayenge ho Badri ki dulhania
Rani bana kar ke
Le jayenge ho Badri ki dulhania

I will take you away as my (Badri’s) bride
I will take you away like a queen, O bride of Badri!

Baby ke dekhe jhumke
Laga de chaar thumke
Chhichore nache jamke re

I have seen my babe’s earings
Shake that hip, so that the rogues dance to your tune

UP mein din dahaade
Window aur chat pe taade
Hum dekhe aankhen faade re
Arre tujhpe tiki hai meri naughty nazariya..

In all of UP, in broad daylight,
We would stare from windows and roofs

My naughty eyes are set on you

Tujhko bana kar ke (x3)
Le jayenge Badri ki dulhania
Tujhko bana kar ke
Le jayenge Badri ki dulhania
Rani bana kar ke
Le jayenge Badri ki dulhania

Munia re munia
Badri ki dulhania (x2)

I will take you away as my (Badri’s) bride
I will take you away like a queen, O bride of Badri!
